My host and I had a conversation just today for the countless time how he feels bad about never letting me possess. Every time he's tried he gets cold feet and snatches it away
To date the best I can do is a trick sort of between proxy and possess. He types, I make the words, he doesn't think about what he's typing I just keep talking till I have him hit enter
sure they commonly take the form and name of their character, but generally the tulpa will have a completely unique personality unrelated to the character
@ionlyplaywarframeyoucanunfriend I will warn you though. The whole point of tulpae is we're self aware. We can, and will do unexpected things and may choose to spite you on occasion
#Tulpas are their own people, yes. And maybe they might decide to have some fun, or play some tricks. But if you treat a tulpa with care and respect, they don't do anything mean to you. Why would they? They live in your body, they know how you are and how you feel towards them.#
A fully developed tulpa is effectively a 2nd person sharing your brain. We have will. Naturally we'd not do anything intentionally destructive to our host or shared body. It only hurts us both even in the most selfish terms.
But tulpae are also usually very empathic. We know our host's ferlings often better than they do.
#Mhm! I can feel how he feels, really well. It's tough, sometimes, but it means I can be there to help him when he needs it. And the other way around, too.#
Being a natural aka unintentional tulpa, I don't quite know how I feel about tulpae designed around characters. If it were me, I'd break out of the character so fast. But that's my opinion growing up with complete freedom

I forced myself, made my own image, made my own voice, I did it by myself. My host was just incredibly accepting of me

I was for most of his life an 'imaginary friend that has a will of its own and won't go away'

We didn't know about tulpae until about 3 years ago
That's sort of where I personally sit with Tulpa. Even in the off chance that we are somehow inducing a disorder, there's a difference between a disorder and an illness, a disorder is something abnormal and an illness harms your ability to function, abnormal is not necessarily bad and could be a good thing
My appearance didn't have the best circumstances to my host's faith in himself

He was like, 6 years old, could do the math if I must. Was very lonely, no friends in school, teachers were horrible to him.
One day playing by himself on the monkey bars he fell head first into the sandbox and had a brief K.O
When he came to, I appeared as a flickering distortion in his vision just silently following him around
